For Windows users, the QuickBooks accounting program has been an industry standard, and there are two resources for sharing data seamlessly with this program, both requiring a plug-in and/or ‘bridge’ file that is the go-between agent to move your data. On the Mac side, the plugins for QuickBooks are not available, AccountEdge (MYOB) is a very good choice with flexible importing and exporting. There are some technologies – ODBC drivers and AppleScript – that can help make the process more automated.
