How We Work

We have a time-tested method for taking your software project from start to finish, including the transition into production and training for your team.  Depending on the size and scope of the project, we may do on-site review and discovery of your needs and work flow, but in most cases we can provide a detailed estimate with mock-ups from your specifications with a few phone conferences and screen share sessions.

Once the project is approved and underway, we provide prototypes for your review with feedback sheets and instructions for ‘alpha’ testing.  Each prototype is reviewed in detail via a screen share session to show you the progress made and the areas we need feedback on.  You and your team will go through the ‘alpha’ testing process and provide feedback.  We repeat this process about every 10-14 days, providing new prototypes to show you the progress until complete.

Now the ‘beta’ testing begins.  We strongly encourage that all potential users get to participate in this process and provide feedback to you regarding the work flow of the new system.  This is the key to making a smooth transition into the software.  When your users get involved, they take ownership and can catch vital points for adjustment before going ‘live’ that will save you many lost hours of production.  This also serves to provide training for end users.  We can optionally provide structured training onsite or via screen share sessions remotely.  When the ‘go live’ day comes, the users are already familiar with the software, and ready to go!

One of the most important steps is the conversion and final transition into your new software.  We use two different methods, depending on the project.  In some cases we can utilized an ‘ease-in’ approach that allows certain modules of the system to go live before others.  If your data needs a lot of clean up, this approach helps you get there a piece at a time.  In other cases, we do a ‘hard conversion’, where all data is converted into the system and users simply move from the old into the new in a single conversion day.  We will often recommend doing a ‘mock conversion’ to test the integrity of the data migration before doing the ‘final conversion’.

After you are up & running in your new software, we take pride in becoming a part of the team by providing ongoing support.  As your needs change and/or your company grows, we help with further development and maintenance to keep your mission-critical system running efficiently.  We install a DB Maintenance file you can use to enter new change requests and maintenance requests directly to us via email.  This file will prioritize your needs and track completion of each item.
